High-Speed Drone - Train Impact

Drone-integrated high-speed video cameras for true scientific aerial slow-motion testing

Ground-based high-speed cameras can only tell part of the story. Mounting a true scientific-grade high-speed camera on a drone gives engineers and researchers an aerial vantage point that gantries, cranes and hoists can't easily reach - and doesn't rely on putting a camera operator at risk anywhere near the test.

Our high-speed camera system is integrated directly onto DJI Matrice 350 and 400 Series drones, or onto our own proprietary Flight Platform, turning an airborne asset into a precise imaging tool. This isn't simply an action camera bolted onto a drone frame - it's the same class of SinceVision high-speed camera used in ground-based rigs, engineered to survive flight, vibration and impact while delivering live video feedback and real slow-motion test data.

Why put a high-speed camera on a drone?

  • Reduce operator risk: ballistics tests, blast events and impact trials often require an elevated camera angle. Traditionally that's meant a gantry, crane or a person operating a camera far too close to the action. A drone-mounted high-speed camera removes people from the hazard area entirely.
  • Capture angles nothing else can reach: standing waves on a quarry rockface during blasting, the full arc of an arena ballistics test or automotive and rail impact events from directly overhead - a drone-mounted camera can be repositioned instantly, with no fixed rigging required.
  • Synchronize with your existing set-up: the system is designed to run alongside ground-based high-speed cameras, so aerial footage can be time-synchronized with existing data streams for a complete, multi-angle recording of the same event.

Key Features

Scientific-grade high-speed cameras fully integrated into DJI Matrice 350/400 Series drones, or our own proprietary Flight Platform, for slow-motion from a unique perspective. Reduce operator risk by replacing aerial views from gantries and cranes. Record direct to onboard SSD for extended durations with the confidence of extreme shock and impact resistance protection.

FAQ - frequent questions

If you have other questions, send us an email at support@this-camera.com

Can these high-speed cameras be fitted to any drone?

It's been integrated with DJI Matrice 350 and 400 Series drones, as well as our own proprietary Flight Platform. Contact our team to discuss compatibility

How long can cameras record for?

Recording duration depends on chosen frame rate and corresponding resolution, but on-board direct SSD recording and battery allow for extended record times. Please refer to SH2-203 and AIR model cameras.

Can it be synchronized with ground-based high-speed cameras?

Yes - the system is designed specifically to complement existing ground-based high-speed camera set-ups, enabling synchronized multi-angle capture of the same event.

Do I get a live view of the high-speed camera on my drone control display screen?

Yes - live video transmission back to the control display screen allows the operator to see what's happening in real time.
